Speed affects traffic collisions in four major ways, based on the research carried out by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety:
1. Speed limits the time of reaction that drivers require to avert collision, which also subsequently increase the fatality of the collision, and the effect it causes on who or what it collides with.

What does speed do?
Statistics have shown that young males tend to be high-speed drivers, although, drivers of both sexes and all ages also speed at particular times.
